Just got my "YWAM WELCOME" packet in the mail... with a packing list and everything.... AND.... bought my ticket to Hawaii yesterday!!
Departure date: September 10th
Return date: February 11th
Preparing my heart for all He has in store... and it's been quite a preparation let me tell you.

So... I can't wait!!
So friends... I recieved word on Friday, July 11th.... that I was accepted into the Youth With a Mission Discipleship Training School in.... *drumroll please*.... Honolulu Hawaii!! :)
Amazing.
I'll be doing missions training for the first three months in Honolulu, than doing outreach for the last 3 months overseas!! We don't find out where our outreach is until the first couple weeks of actually being at the school, but the outreach will be in either Asia or the South Pacific.
The first day of the school is September 12th, and we "graduate" from the school February 8th, 2009! So... about 6 months. Amazing.
I'm excited and more at peace now knowing what I will be doing this upcoming semester. I feel as though this is the next step in obedience to the Lord for me...
I mean, I've been in the little Colorado Springs Christian "Comfort Zone" for so long now, I'm ready to step out. I haven't done much of any missions in the past 5 years...
Um... yikes!! I wouldn't necesarily consider myself as one of those people who is "called" to overseas missions, but it definitely is something that I'd like to experience first hand and something I believe God has placed in my life to give me an opportunity to grow. It'll be a lot of "firsts" for me.
First time living somewhere OTHER than Colorado Springs (besides being born in Maryland and living there til' I was 5.)
First time living with people that I've never known before.
First time being away for my family for longer than a week! (Big difference between 1 week and 6 months!!) I remember I cried when I was leaving on a vacation by myself for a week in florida... haha.... lets see how I react when I leave this time. *wink*
First time being in a long distance relationship! *tear*.... pretty sad about that, not gonna lie. Really sad. I'm gonna miss him... but who knows... maybe he'll come down and visit me in Hawaii?? (*hint hint babe*) :)
Ahh... I'm just so excited for a new phase in life!! I'm excited for the growing, stretching, breaking, and loving that will take place over those 6 months. :)

This is the blog where I'll try to update as much as possible. Just wanted to break the ice now and let you know what I was up to in a few months... SO excited. Love you all!
